Admit Responsibility With Explanation

You may admit responsibility with an explanation of the circumstances of the violation which the Court may consider in determining the amount of your fine and costs. You may admit responsibility with explanation by mail, in person, or by representation.

Important Points:

  • You cannot reschedule court dates. Court dates can only be changed if you present proof of a medical emergency, travel tickets or  proof that you will be out of state.
  • Points are assessed by the Secretary of State, not the Court. The 31st District Court does not have the ability to waive, raise or lower points on a violation.
  • Fines and Costs are due at the time of assessment, and will therefore be due on your court date if you are found responsible.
  • If you fail to appear for your court date, you will be subject to additional fees and possible suspension of your driving privileges.
