In an effort to better accommodate court-users’ schedules, the 31st District Court is testing extended business hours on selected dates to correspond with Hamtramck City Council meetings. The dates are listed below.
During the extended business hours, the Court will run a limited docket, providing an opportunity for court-users to appear before Judge Alexis G. Krot on arraignments, bench warrants, payment agreements and traffic matters. Additionally, the City Attorney has agreed to participate, allowing for extended scheduling on pre-hearing conferences for traffic civil infractions.
“It makes sense because City Hall is already open late on these dates for City Council meetings,” said Judge Alexis G. Krot. “So without expending additional resources to keep the building open, the Court is able to offer customers the ability to appear who might otherwise have trouble getting to Court during the standard 8a – 4p schedule. This fits within our greater goal of providing excellent customer service."
The Court will be open from 8am to 6pm on the dates listed below. For more information, please contact the Court at (313) 800-5248.
