NOTICE

In light of the current state of emergency, and pursuant to Michigan Supreme Court Administrative Order 2020-12, the 31st District Court is physically closed to the public until further noticeCourt staff are available by phone at (313) 800-5248, or email at info@31stdistrictcourt.net to address any questions. During this time, the Court will maintain a limited in-person hearing schedule, including arraignments and proceedings for in-custody criminal defendants. All other matters will be handled remotely using the Court's virtual courtroom.

FILINGS/FILING FEES: Filings can be mailed, shipped, faxed, emailed or placed in the drop box in front of the Hamtramck City Hall Building. The Court is not accepting in-person filings at the public service counter. Please see below for contact information.

On criminal matters, all in-custody felony arraignments, probable cause conferences and preliminary examinations will continue as scheduled. As many proceedings as possible will be conducted remotely. The Zoom meeting ID for the Courtroom is listed below.

Out-of-custody misdemeanor matters will be handled remotely, or will be adjourned. The Court will send a notice to appear once a new date has been set.

Traffic, civil infraction and ordinance violation hearings are being handled remotely.

Any person wishing to contest an eligible traffic citation must do so using the online negotiation system at the link below. All traffic hearings are being conducted remotely. Please use the Courtroom Zoom Meeting ID when appearing for the remote hearing.
