Visitors to the 31st District Court will notice some work being performed on Zussman Park, located just west of the Hamtramck City Hall building. These efforts are part of a larger project to improve and revitalize several parks around the City of Hamtramck.
During the construction at Zussman Park, parking at City Hall will be temporarily reduced. When the project is complete, visitors will have an additional twenty permanent parking spaces from which to choose. Additional upgrades to the park include construction of an amphitheater, new walkways, bench seating, lighting and more.
Spear-headed by the City of Hamtramck Department of Community and Economic Development, the project was made possible by funding from Community Development Block Grants, Wayne County Parks millage funds, the Karol Wojtyla Parks Committee, the Hamtramck DDA, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation Patronicity crowdfunding campaign.
